A Note From Randyll

Starting out as an actor who paid too many dollars for her headshots and yet wasn't pleased with the experience nor the end product - I've stepped into the photographer's vest with a passion to help actors [and other artists] promote their "products" proudly and accurately according to their personality and type. It is my job to capture exactly what you want casting directors to see and to make sure you are comfortable to be yourself in front of the camera, and me!

With acting, business, and photography classes from UCI and UCLA and my experiences in Los Angeles & New York City, I have acquired the skills to create a fun, relaxed, yet controlled photo shoot, and to produce unique headshots that you will carry confidently into any audition setting! When I am not shooting headshots I am thinking of the next color punch, communicative, postcard perfect photograph to add to my fashion and artistic galleries.

While embarking on my move to New York City, I intend to keep each genre of my portfolio growing and to network with various collaborative artists from all over the world. What To Expect

Once you have your appointment in the calendar, you will be asked to fill out the Headshot Survey. This allows me to study exactly what your expectations are for the shoot. Once you arrive to the designated location, we will make wardrobe choices for each look. Then we can either get into make-up or jump straight into the shoot. We will spend some time throughout the shoot reviewing the images on my camera screen to make sure we are capturing your vision - and you like your hair, the way your smiling, the background etc. Don't worry about getting the perfect shot each time - we have over 500 tries to generate the shot that speaks! Feel like experimenting during the shoot? Please do! I love catching people having fun in front of the camera! After the shoot, I will get rid of the photos you were blinking in or that you would never be used and burn about 50 of the best images from each look and mail the CDs to you within 7 days.

After you have selected your favorites, I recommend a little post processing work before putting them up online or printing them. With every look I also include 1 image worth of retouching and color enhancement. Once you have filled out the Retouching Request form, we will set up a 30 minute retouching appointment where you will be able to make any final adjustments on your images.

The Shoot

HEADSHOT PHILOSOSPHY

One of my teachers put it best when he said, "your headshot is the most important aspect when putting together your package to promote your product." Essentially, what you are doing as an actor is selling what you already got: your product. In order to have the most successful shoot every client must come in knowing EXACTLY what his or her product is all about. Additionally, headshots should look like you and represent you physically, mentally and emotionally. The casting directors should be able to tell the kind of energy you will bring into the room just by glancing at your headshot. Are you ready yet?

DEPOSIT

A $100 deposit is required 2 weeks before our shoot to confirm the appointment. The remaining balance is payable on the day of the shoot. Deposits will only be refunded if cancellation notice is received 72 hours in advance. If you have to reschedule, please let me know as soon as possible. There will be a $35 charge if rescheduling occurs more than once.

Payment can be made with a Check or Cash.

RESHOOTS & REFUNDS

Reshoots & refunds will only be given if you have completely filled out both the Headshot Survey. Reshoots and Refunds must be requested within 1 week after the shoot. Once you have received the disk with all of your images you will not be granted a refund.

The disk you get with all of your images are your negatives. I keep all my files on my computer or backed up onto a disk as well, but I am in no way obligated to do so nor do I guarantee your files will always be there. If you misplace your disk, I will not be held responsible. You are allowed to copy the disk as many times as you like. It will cost $35 if you misplace your disk and would like another copy.

AGENTS AND MANAGERS

Please meet with your agents/managers before our shoot together. The only way we can guarantee pleasing them is if we know what they want before the shoot.

Let them know they are free to call or email me with any suggestions.

• Here are some things to ask them:
  • What different looks would they like to see from you?
  • Ask for copies of their favorite headshots, please bring them to the shoot or email me
  • What do they like or dislike in headshots? Name off the following options:
    • Close-Up, Three Quarter, or both
    • Vertical, Horizontal, or both
    • Bright Colorful Backgrounds
    • Light Neutral Backgrounds
    • Dark Backgrounds

MUSIC

I believe that playing familiar music is one of the best ways to help people feel more comfortable in any environment. Music can also help people get into the mood/essence of the shot you're trying to capture. You may bring your computer, CDs, or an iPod.

WARDROBE

Please bring several options for each look you are going for. The most important thing is to bring your favorite outfits and the ones that make you feel the way you want to be marketed, (sexy, dorky, cuddly, business class, best friend, psycho killer, etc.). Even if you think it goes against my recommendations, if it makes you feel a certain way, I can make it work.

Please Don't Wear Sunglasses before our shoot. It will make your eyes more light sensitive and you will squint.

• Shirts
  • Dark solid colors work well for everyone. Sometimes, but not always, stripes, patterns, and logos can draw attention away from your face. White shirts are not my favorites, but the darker your skin tone, the better white shirts will look on you.
• Layers
  • Layers provide interesting necklines. I highly recommend bringing shirts that you can wear over other shirts and please bring your favorite jacket(s).
• Pants
  • I rarely shoot below the waist unless requested to, but still, every now and then I do catch the top part of pants in the shots. I recommend bringing a comfortable pair of jeans and slacks.
• Accessories
  • Accessories are a choice and could sometimes be distracting. Be careful to not choose things that are too trendy and you might not like in a couple of months.

If you're having trouble picking things out, please visit my Portfolio and look at what works in the headshots you like. If it means going to the store and buying a new shirt, I'd recommend it.

Pricing

Weddings, Musicians, Live Events, & Productions Stills Rates are on a per client basis. Prices vary depending on location, number of hours, and number of people attending event. Please contact me for further details.

• Headshots
  • 3 Looks session - $250
  • 2 Looks session - $200
  • 1 Look Session - $150

• Each Additional Wardrobe Change - $50
  • $50 Off for return clients
  • A "Look" is anything that consists of a wardrobe change

• All Sessions Include:
  • CD with all of your images at maximum resolution
  • One Image Retouched for Each look purchased

• Retouching / Color Enhancement
  • Additional Retouching is $25 for the first image, $15 each additional image

• Hair & Make-Up
• Headshots (Natural Look)
• 1 Look - $100 (cash only)
• Each Additional Look - $25
